Graduation Day approaching!
Graduation 2020 was delayed until December because of the coronavirus pandemic so this year’s course has been short and very intense!
The course ends on 20th May with exams in their final week – NOW!
There is extra administrative work for teachers preparing and supervising exams and then there is the task of marking that must be fair and accurate.
Graduation will be on 29th May for Level 4 students.

Term time
The term has gone well though there was a coronavirus scare in March when a school contact tested positive. The government closed the school for a few days.

In April and May an international group of 7 people were in the country so joined in Saturday evening conversation classes. These were popular.

Thank the LORD God for his blessing and encouragements as all these good interpersonal relationship develop.
Life in Djibouti
April-May is a time for rainstorms that cause flooding but it has not been too bad this year. Nevertheless, it is horrible for those in poor housing and especially if living along the wadi. There is better drainage in the town centre so that helps. The school roof has been leaking, damaging the library but the landlord has accepted responsibility so will fix it all. The somewhat ‘motheaten’ bathroom doors have finally collapsed so will be replaced. That will be nice!
Djibouti virtually closes down in the very hot summer months so classes will begin again in September.
Two new teachers need to be recruited for the new term. Some possibilities are being considered.

Pray for safety especially for the socially deprived in at risk areas. Pray that suitably equipped and enthusiastic new teachers will become available.
