Time to say Goodbye – well it is getting closer!

The time has now come for the closure of EELC in its current form and location.

It had already been downsized for Sept 2023 to reduce costs: with only one teacher, only one classroom was needed, and the potential fee income was going to be limited.  Moreover the social and physical environment immediately around the Centre has been deteriorating for some time, and it is now an area where responsible parents wouldn’t want their sons and daughters to go in the evenings, as well as the road being unduly subject to flooding.

What of the future? We have been invited to open a new Language Centre in a large town in the South of the country, near the Ethiopian border, but the exact way forward for this is not yet clear.

In the meantime, EELC is preparing for Christmas!
