The programmes provided at Oasis Tadjourah and Oasis Balbala depend on donations from very generous people. The teachers and workers are immensely grateful for such donations because the generosity allows the work to continue and the programmes to open their doors to the children and community members.
All kinds of different donations are made and these include financial resources, books, and new games and toys. The children at both Centres are especially grateful for the gifts of toys!
A children’s favourite at Oasis Tadjourah is the new kitchen set. The children love to create ‘meals’ for the various workers and guests. They can make anything and everything in the kitchen. A newer addition to the kitchen is a coffee maker that, when equipped with batteries, even pours water out of the espresso maker and includes cream and sugar. A real upgrade to the average children’s tea party!
Another new donation that is adored by the young girls are a supply of doll’s clothes. Some of the clothes are even homemade. The girls happily spend hours dressing the two dolls in the new outfits. This is a great upgrade as previously there were enough clothes for only one doll – so the other was naked most of the time. Now there is enough clothes to dress various stuffed animals as well as the dolls!
